Hello!

I'd like to do a tag today, and I know this one has been around since the beginning of time... but I love reading and watching videos of people doing this tag! It's always so interesting, and it lets you get know that person a little bit more! 

I thought it would be a good way for you to get to know me a bit better!

I also find it really fun the write these, it makes me think about the little things in my life.

1. Name? Kaitlyn Shepel

2. Zodiac Sign? Gemini 

3. 3 Fears? Birds, death of a loved one and a terminal illness.

4. 3 Things I love? My family, friends and laughter.

5. My best friend? I have multiple, I couldn't name just one! I don't want to single one out over the others. I love them all equally!

6. Last song I listened to? Hold Back The River - James Bay

7. 4 Turn ons? Sense of humour, beautiful eyes, brave and creative.

8. 4 Turn Offs:? Bad hygiene, take's life too seriously, can't commit to anything and rudeness.

9. What colour underwear I'm wearing right now? Oh jeez... lilac purple if you must know! 

10. How many tattoos and piercings I have? I have two tattoos and defiantly want more! I have no piercings, not even my ears. Ive always had long hair and I keep down most of the time. So you would never see them. But I do have plans to get my nose pierced soon!

11. The reason I started blogging? Because I read so many blogs, and they inspired me to give it a try!

12. How I feel right now? Happy, hopeful and content.

13. Something I really want? To be completely honest, I really want poutine. Does that make me sound really Canadian? Do they do poutine in other parts of the world? 

14. My current relationship status? Single, flying solo or a free being. However you want to call it!

15. Meaning behind my blog name? I just wanted something that had my first name in it, so I thought Dreamy Kaitlyn sounded pretty good!

16. My favourite movies?  Titanic, The Decoy Bride, The Hunger Games and anything that has Johnny Depp in it! 

17. My favourite songs? All Summer Long - Kid Rock, Here Without You - 3 Doors Down and Pour Some Sugar On Me - Def Leppard

18. My favourite bands? The All American Rejects, 30 Seconds to Mars, Mumford & Sons, Death Cab for Cutie and Marianas Trench

19. 3 Things that upset me? Animal abuse, people crying and losing people you love.

20. 3 Things that make me happy? My family, drawing and animals.

21. What I find attractive in other people? Laughter, joking around, smiles, showing kindness and being genuine.

22. Someone I miss? My Dad, Dad passed away when I was 16. I miss him so much and I would give anything to spend more time with him. 

23. Someone I love? My Mum, she's my rock and best friend. I honestly don't know what i'd do without her.

24. My relationship with my parents? Amazing, I'm so thankful to have the parents I do. 

25. My favourite holiday? Christmas for sure!

26. My oldest friend? A girl named Charity, we've been friends since the first grade and we're still super close. We've been friends for over 12 years now.

27. Someone from the blogging world i'd date? Hmm, at the moment probably not.

28. A confession? I really wish I could sing better! I love to sing, but I don't think I sound that great.

29. 3 Things that annoy me easily? Sound of people eating, chewing finger nails and people trying to talk to me while I have my headphones in.

30. My favourite animals? Otters, english bulldogs and cats!

31. My pets? I don't have any at the moment, but I've had many cats and dogs. I've had a hamster and a guinea pig. But I also grew up on a farm, so I've been surround by animals since birth.

32. One thing I've lied about? How I'm truly feeling to spare others feelings, even though I know I should be true to myself sometimes I can't bare to hurt other peoples feelings.

33. Something that's currently worrying me? My future, as exciting as it can be it can also be terrifying. 

34. An embarrassing moment? I've been pooped on twice by birds, in two different situations. 

35. Where I work? A deli, super glamorous I know... but it pays the bills while I try to decide on school!

36. Something that's constantly on my mind? Music, I always have music either playing or I have it stuck in my head.

37. 3 habits I have? Cracking my joints, I'd double jointed in a few places. Always having a hot drink in the morning and playing with my hair when I'm nervous. 

38. My future goals? To travel the world, for a period of time have photography as a career and to help others in a big project of some kind. 

39. Something I fantasize about? Being able to act in a movie or tv show, i'd love to be able to do that one day.

40. My favourite clothing stores? Bootlegger, Pink, Forever 21 and Old Navy. 

41. My favourite foods? Chow Mein, mashed potatoes, peanut butter and butter chicken samosas! Also coffee and tea.

42. What I did yesterday? I had the day off work! So I stayed at home, did some blogging, spent time with my family and did some cleaning! Also watched some tv!

43. Something I'm talented at? Umm, I'm not sure. I'm good at drawing, applying makeup, cooking and being a conversationist!

44. My idea of a perfect date? He'd come to pick me up, and he'd come to the front door to come get me. We'd go out for food, something intimate. Go do something fun together, something outdoors is always good! I hate movie dates... none of that. A night in is always good too.

45. My celebrity crushes? Norman Reedus, Joseph Morgan, Jamie Campbell Bower, Andrew Lincoln  and Leonardo Dicaprio... oh! also Tyson Ritter and a young Mick Jagger!

Kat Von D Makeup Haul

Happy Saturday!

Have any fun plans? I'm having a super relaxed day at home before I go back to work tomorrow. Clocks go back tonight, I kinda want to cry since I have to be super early tomorrow.

In the past few weeks I've purchased some of my first Kat Von D makeup, and I've got to sharing just how amazing it is. I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I'm certainly glad I'm here now! So I thought id do a little haul and quick review! 

I've admired and seen at as a role model since the early days of Miami Ink, I was about 9 years old when the show started. But my parents watched the show and so did I, and I've watched her grow   her career ever since then. I remembered how exciting it was when she first launched her beauty line, and now in my opinion it's one of the best out there.

So I have both of the Shade + Light Palettes, one for the eyes and the other for the face. I have also recently purchased one of the Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita... Best liquid lipstick ever!

In the Shade + Light Contour palette, you get 3 darker contour shades and 3 highlight shades. Super pigmented, blends beautifully and easily. You have everything you need in one palette, holy grail of conturing for sure!

Next up is Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette, all matte and super finely milled eyeshadows! So pigmented and blends like a dream. You can create any look from this palette, from light day time look to super sexy dark smokey eye. This palette contains 3 quads that are meant to create a look, or you can mix and match! You do you, makeup is about creativity. I've created a swatch from each quad to show you the quality of the shadows. The colours from left to right are Samael, Shax and Latinus.

Lastly is the Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita, oh my goodness... I die! When you apply this, it dries down to a matte and it does not move at all! Hardcore smudge proof, and there's so many shades! I'll definitely be picking up more soon, it also feels so good on the lips. Not drying at all.

Something else I love about this brand is how affordable it is for a high end brand! You get such amazing quality stuff for such a great price! Both palettes retail for $46 and the lipstick $20. I'm totally comfortable paying that for the quality of makeup I'm getting in the end.

Bedtime Routine

Hello there!

Currently sat in bed relaxing, spent the whole day out running errands! Did a bit of shopping... probably shouldn't have but oh well! 

I finally have a sometime to sit down and write to you, and tonight I thought i'd share my bedtime routine with you. I love watching and reading about people's daily routines, I know I'm not the only one who does! Maybe it's because I'm slightly nosey person... not my best trait! But I also find them to be totally inspiring as well. 

So, let's crack on with mine!

Normally the first thing I do when I get home at night from work or being out is head straight into my room, turn on all my fairy lights and lamps. I prefer the lower lights, I find it sets the mood and relaxes me way more then the ugly over head light.

I then proceed to throw everything on the bed and change into some PJs! Best moment of the day! Next I grab my iPod and head into the bathroom to wash the day off, and remove my makeup. 

I always play music in the bathroom, it just helps me unwind from the day. The photo below shows all my current nighttime skin care products. 

 I then proceed to start the process of making a tea, I always try to have one before bed if I can. I just find it helps me relax, and puts me in the head space for sleep. I also just fucking love tea, I could drink it constantly honestly.

Then it's laptop club time! I always watch a bit of youtube or tv at night, lately it's been The Walking Dead as my tv show of choice. Best show on tv hands down! Friends is always my second choice as well! I also like to have a small light snack before bed as well, I find it helps me fall asleep better if i have something in my stomach.

I'm a massive reader, I always have something on the go. I've been reading before bed since I was little, it's just second nature to me now. I'm currently reading The Mortal Instruments Series and I'm on the second book City of Ashes. I've read them before, but they're so good! Like amazingly good, if you haven't read them yet. GO DO IT! I also take this time to plan blog posts and photography I'd like to do in the next while.

The very last thing I do is apply hand cream and lip balm, currently loving ones from lush at the moment!

After all this, then it's lights out and bedtime! I absolutely love sleeping... probably more then I should.

Life Update & Blog Revamp

Hello there again!

How have you been? Having a exciting and filling life I hope, I've been good and happy. But I've been doing some soul searching again, and I wasn't sure what I was wanting to be doing in life. But honestly, who is ever a 100% sure all the time? I know I'm not, but at the moment I'm taking life as it comes at me and doing what I love at the moment. That's the joy of life really, times change and you change as you grow older. You find things that you come to love over time.

I apologize for my couple month absence, things got very busy for me with work and life. I was also having a bit of a writing block and I wasn't sure where I wanted to continue on with this blog. As much as I love beauty and everything that comes with it. I changed my mind on my schooling, and decided to not to school to become an esthetician. I jumped really fasted into the idea and the more I thought about it the more I was realizing that perhaps it wasn't something I wanted to do.

I've definitely been feeling the pressure of trying to decide what I what to do career wise, but I have to remind myself that it's okay to change my mind and explore. I'm only 19 years old, but sometimes I feel like I should have it all figured by now. But then I realized that no one ever has their life completely figured out, and even if you have it all planned out it doesn't mean its going to happen as you want it to. Life happens and plans change, but you have to remember that it's okay and everything will go the way it's supposed to eventually. I look around at my friends and people I know,  and some of them went to university straight away because they new what they wanted to do. Which is absolutely amazing for them, but I've also seen friends change their minds now and drop out to do something else now. There's also many people I know, same age as me who are still as unsure as me as to what they want to do. But I know one day soon or in a year from now, we'll figure it out! But in the mean time as long as I'm happy and productive, I'm content with where I am.

Anyways, now that we've go the deep stuff out of the way! Im glad to finally say that I'm back to blogging, it's something I really love doing! But I thought that maybe because I wasn't going into a career in the beauty industry that I couldn't right about it. Which is just silliness, of course I can. I still have a massive passion for it! But I also want to write more lifestyle, fashion and current issue posts.

Hmm, what else can I tell you about thats happened in the last couple months...

Oh! I got another tattoo!

Totally in love with it! The quote resonated with me so strongly, that pretty much just after I heard it the first time. I knew that I wanted it as a tattoo, so I booked the appointment and a couple weeks later I went in a got it! A lot of the time I'm a very fearful person, it stems from my anxiety disorder. But I wanted there to remind me that even though feel fearful, the fear won't last forever and it won't kill me. I know that sounds morbid, but if you have anxiety disorder you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.

7 Deadly Sins Beauty Tag

Hello! 

Monday, fresh start to a new week and only 17 more days till Christmas!

I recently watched a few videos of people doing the 7 Deadly Sins Beauty Tag and thought it was such a neat little tag, I totally wanted to do it too! But currently I don't have a Youtube channel, so I thought i'd just do it here! I love it because everyone has a different answer, and it give you a bit of insight into someone's beauty routine. If your a bit nosy like me, you'll love this tag!

1. GREED: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?

Hm, my most inexpensive beauty product is probably my Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 107! Rimmel have some on the best drugstore lipsticks I think because they're super cheap, pigmented and long lasting. At my local drugstore I can buy them for $7. My most expensive product is definitely my Mac eyeshadow palette, in Canada the pan shadows retail for $12 and I have 10 of the 15 spaces filled which adds up to $120 dollars... yikes. I never realized that till now, well when you love something... I get so much use out of it. 

2. WRATH: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with?

Liquid eyeliner for sure! I love the look of it, but it is so time consuming to get it right. I put the time in when I want that look but it's something i definitely don't do everyday! But the more I do it, the better and faster I get at it so maybe I should just do it more often, jeez the things I'm starting to realize while doing this tag!

3. GLUTTONY: What are your most delicious beauty products?

My Yves Saint Laurent Silky Sensual Radient Lipstick in Peach Passion and the Make Up For Ever Artist Nudes Volume 1 Palette. This are firm favourites of mine, and they feel super special to have. I just get super excited every time I use them!

4. SLOTH: What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?

Bronzer, I have a couple really nice ones sitting around ready to use, but I just always prefer to go for a paler look. I've gotten so used to my look without it, that when I apply it to my look I feel like it's super bold on my face and doesn't make me look like myself.

5. PRIDE: What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?

Mascara, it just brightens and opens up my eyes so much that I feel like m face looks a bit dull without it! I love long thick lashes, and I think having those lashes it such a staple in my look.

6. LUST: What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?

Sense of humour, caring, friendly, adventurous, sense of style and good hygiene!

7. ENVY: What items would you most like to receive as a gift? 

The new Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Palette or the Hourglass Ambient Edit!
