Starting a new job?

Hello again!

Tomorrow I will be starting a new job, and we all know have nerve-racking that can be! I'll be working in this job to save some money before I go to school in a few months. I'm feeling slightly nervous, so I thought I'd share some tips I use to try and stay calm. Also, to give myself a confidence boost! Before starting a brand new job!

1. Your new and everyone knows it!
I know this sounds harsh, but it's the truth and it's not a bad thing! Use this to your advantage, you and everyone else knows that you don't exactly know what your doing for the first few weeks. It's going to take some time to learn everything and to know exactly what to do in your new job. It's okay to make mistakes! Your coworkers will be forgiving, and will be able to show the way if you should need help.

2. Be friendly and make conversation!
This is so important, even if you have to step out of your comfort zone. By giving a smile and saying "Hello, I'm _____! How are you?" your breaking down a wall that leaves you more open to people. Coworkers get nervous too when someone new starts, nobody knows what the new person will be like. If your friendly and open, you'll be putting your coworkers at ease and making the first day for you slightly easier.

3.Be yourself!
I know everyone says that and it sounds so cliché, but it is the best thing you can do. You want your new coworkers to get to know you, not a fake version of you. The longer you work there, the more comfortable you will become. Real pieces of you will be exposed, like your favourite tv show or the fact the you hate cheese! It will be easier if you have this mind set from the very start.

4. Ignore the negativity!
There is always going to be someone who gives off negative vibes, and a lot of the time it has nothing to do with you. Even if it may seem like it, just avoid these people as much as you can. When you do have to interact with these people, squash it with kindness! Honestly, sometimes people just need a hug or some kind words. Also, if people are being intently rude to you nothing will drive them crazy more then you not reacting and being kind back. They won't be getting the reaction they want, so eventually they will give up. If the negativity doesn't stop, talk to something who can deal with it in the workplace.

5.Make an extra effort and pay it forward!
This is such a great tip for the work place, I had a friend tell me about this and it really does make a difference! If that means buying coffee that day or bringing a treat or grabbing your coworkers plate on the way to the sink! People will remember it and be grateful, even if sometimes they may not seem like it! Your being a good person by doing those things, and that's a good thing to be! :)

Well, I hope these tips help! Give them a try in your current job too!

Top 5 Lip Balms

Hello!

Another beauty related post today!

Lip Balms are honestly such an important step in skin care, many people don't really think about it as Skin Care. But it is, we only get the skin we're given once and I personally want to look after it. Also, who wants gross chapped dry lips? (YUCK)

Applying lip balm before applying any other lip products is also a important step, it helps in allowing them to apply smoother and easier. It also allows the lip product to last longer and feel more comfortable on the lips. If Im not wearing any lipstick or lipstick that day, i'll apply lip balm at least once every couple hours and after I eat or drink.

So I though I'd share my top 5 lip balms today!

1. Nivea Essential Lip Balm
This is honestly the best lip balm I have ever come across so far! So moisturizing and long-lasting, like I'm talking at least 3 hours before I have to reapply. This is also the lip balm that I use before I apply any other lip products. Just so you know, it's super cheap and it's from the drugstore!

2. Lypsyl Original Lip Balm

3. Burt's Bees Honey Lip Balm

4. The Body Shop 100% Natural Lip Roll On in Rose
This one is slightly different, super moisturizing but it sinks into your lips and after a few mins it doesn't even look or feel like you'd applied anything to your lips. But it leaves your lips feeling super moisturized and plump!

5. Blistex Ultra Protection SPF 30 Lip Balm
Not as moisturizing as the others, still is but I use this more for when I know I'lll be outside a lot. I only wear lip balm when I know i'll be spending a lot of time outside that day. What's the point of wearing tons of lipgloss or lipstick? Also, remember that your lips can become sun burnt too!

Have an amazing day and give someone a smile!

Why It's Important To Vote

Hello!

I'd like to just take a moment to explain to you why I think its important to vote!

Yesterday, in Alberta it was election day. It was time to choose a new political party and premier to run this beautiful province. Right now there is a lot that needs to change, we're having issues in many areas. Such as Education and the Work Force, and it is going to take a lot to make changes and we need a strong individual to take on that task.

Now, everyone is going to have a different opinion on which party is best fit to achieve all that. There is going to be many arguments around this. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and that is why we have the freedom to be able to vote. This way we can come to a decision in the most fair and equal way possible. Everyone can voice their opinion and that way we can see which party has the most supporters.

People have fought for us to have this opportunity to vote and I for one want to be able to exercise my right. I voted for NDP Party, and the NDP Party won this election. They won because me and many others put forward their opinion to make a change.

Even though this election is over, next time you have a opportunity to vote for anything DO IT!
Take pride in having this right to voice your opinion!

Thank you

Blog Layout

Hello!

Just wanted to say that I changed the name of my blog and did some tinkering of the layout, I found that the name was too long and I found my background was a bit boring!

Does it look better this way?

I think so, but who knows a week from now I might dislike it...

What's in My Bathroom Drawer?

Hello!

Today I thought I'd give you a peek into my bathroom drawer, which contains all my everyday essential products that I use. Keep in mind that I consistently switch up my products, so these are things that I'm currently enjoying!

Please excuse the messiness! It's a bit of organized chaos, so I'll give you the details in sections.

Hair:
I have very long naturally thick and curly hair and I do quite a bit of styling on it. What I do with it all depends on how I feel that day. I do everything from curled, waved, straighten or diffused. Sometimes I leave it all natural. All of my hair brushes are from Stylize, this is a brand that I found at Shoppers Drug-mart which is the main drugstore in Canada if your reading this from another part of the world. The brushes are all very cheap and well made. I've had most of these brushes for years and they've done me well! Over all great cheap and cheerful products! I own one normal oval brush, two round brushes (the smaller one is used to curl my bangs and the bigger one I use to blow dry straighten my hair), a hair teasing brush and smoothing paddle brush. I also have things like hair grips, clips and hair ties. I also have things like my hair donut (bad hair day life saver) and my tangle teaser. I don't store my hair care products in this drawer, and include all those in another post soon to come!

 Facial Skin Care:
I have combination and acne prone skin, which can mean sometimes be quite a task to deal with. Currently I am enjoying to apply Lush Grease Lighting Cleanser, Boots No.7 Oil Control Lotion and Olay Moisturizing Facial Lotion. I apply these day and night, and I find that this combination of products is currently helping my skin a lot!

Body Skin Care:
The Body Shop Body Butter is a essential for me, I always have one on hand because it is so deeply moisturizing but it also does not irritate my eczema. I also have the Jergens Radiant Glow Gradual Sunless Tanning Lotion, I absolutely love this product because it gives just a slight bronze glow, its so moisturizing and it comes off extremely easy! I also have a St Ives Spray Shea Butter Lotion and Watkins Pomegranate and Grapefruit Body Lotion. I also use Aloe Vera, seriously is one of the best products for your skin! If you don't already use it, you should! So many benefits to it.  I also always have baby powder, it helps calm down my eczema breakouts.

That's everything!
Honestly, you should give all these products a try if you can! They're great, and cheap! Most are also found at your local drugstore.

Enjoy!

Hello!

Today I thought i'd write about Lush!
Because who doesn't love Lush?
I've been shopping there for about two years and I can honestly say it's one of my favourite places to spend my money! It just makes me so happy when I walk in and you can smell all the different floral and sweet scents! I just find it to be so comforting, also the staff are always so amazing, kind and helpful. It's all important to me that this company is against testing on animals and to provide the exact information on the ingredients that are in each product!
Honestly, if you haven't ever been in to take a peek on what they have to offer I highly recommend that you do! You won't regret it, there's something in there for everyone. Lush provides everything from Skin Care to Makeup to Hair Care to Luxury Bath products.
I'll share with you my 5 Favourite products to help get you started, and if your a loyal shopping there maybe there's one here you haven't tried!

1. Twilight Bath Bomb
A Lush Bath Bomb is a product that you can put into your bath and it will fizz up and dissolve! They leave you with a wonderfully smelling bath and coloured water! They also do wonders for skin, and my skin always feels so soft after! Twilight provides a gorgeous lavender smell!

2.Tisty Tosty Bath Bomb
This one provides you with a lovely rose scent! But isn't too strong in scent, so it's just perfect!

3. Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds Bubble Bar
A Bubble bar provides you with the needed bubbles! Break off a chunk and crumble under the tape and your good to go! Bubble Bars create bubbles that last a long time, they're also amazing because the can last multiple baths!

4. Ceridwen's Cauldron Bath Melt
Bath Melts are meant to provide some lovely skin care for you while your in the bath, just set one in and let it melt! Once it's melted, all the lovely things will absorb into your skin and you don't even have to think about it! This particular one is very calming and soothing, I suffer from eczema and it helps to calm it down quite a bit!
