My Top 5 Non-GMO Project Snacks!

Hello!

I've definitely learned this week that finding time to sit down and write a blog can be extremely difficult! I had so many places to go and when I finally found time to sit down, something would come up and i'd have to leave again. Anyways, the point of this isn't to be making excuses for why it's been a week since I last blogged, it's to be writing a new one! Today I thought I would write about my 5 favourite Non-GMO snacks! There all super yummy and stuff I almost eat on a daily basis!

If you don't know what the The Non-GMO Project is then here are some things you should know:

  • The Non-GMO Project is a non for profit Organization.
  • It began as a big supporter of small all natural food retailers in Canada and the United States.
  • The main goal is to provide non Genetically Modified Organism labeling and to monitor the food retailers with their Non-GMO food project standards.

Here are my top 5 snacks:
  1. Dark Chocolate Pumpkin Seed Snacking Chocolate by BarkThins
  2. BoomChickaPop Organic Sea Salt Popcorn by Angie's
  3. Stone Ground Whole Wheat Fig Bars by Nature's Bakery

Tips to Help the Earth From Home!

Hello!

To start I thought i'd give you some very simple tips to help our earth from your home. I know many people in the current and very fast paced soceity that we live in do not have the time to go out and volunteer to do things! Such as road and environment clean up or spending some time at the bottle depot or recycle centre. So I sat down and complied a list of 5 things that are super easy and quick but will make a big impact in the end! Some of these are things that I currently do at home and others I've recently discovered through some research!

1.RECYCLE RECYCLE RECYCLE!
I know that recycling is something that everyone tells you to do, but it is honestly so important and makes such a big difference! It also prevents a huge amount of waste going into our environment.  Hopefully most people do this but if you don't already then you better get started right away! Remember that you can earn money from taking the bottles into your local bottle depot, it is a quick way to earn some extra cash!

2.Unplug all of your electrical products that your aren't currently using!
An example of this is your microwave, your microwave still uses a small amount of energy throughout the day to keep the clock on! Which is such a waste of energy, you may think its not much but if you leave it on 24 hours a day everyday of the year that adds up to a lot of wasted energy!

3.Unplug your devices as soon as they are completely charged!
Check your devices regularly until they become fully charged, because it takes energy to maintain the charge which is unnecessary!

4.Don't Waste Water!
Say you want hot water, put a bowl in your sink and let the cold water from the tap pour in there until it becomes hot. Then set it aside for later and use it others way around you house! Such as your coffee pot, kettle or to do the dusting!

5. Keep lights off during the day!
Use natural light when you can, open the curtains! Let the world in! The sun will also make you feel better! :)

There are my 5 quick and easy tips to help our earth from you home!
I hope these help!
